zOS Agent does not connect to v9 Automation Engine system and U0034018 license class message is retu
Resolution:
Detailed Description and Symptoms

New zOS Agent does not connect to v9 Automation Engine system and the "U0034018" license class error message below is returned in PWP log:

U0034018 The specified license class '1' for Agent 'UC4TEST' is less than the required license class '5' found in the HTYP table. Correct .ini of Agent.

No additional information is written to the zOS Agent log?

Investigation

1) Check all the following:

- that corrent license class is available in current license.

- License class loaded to DB is not corrupt (request new license)

- Execute following SQL to check DB entries:

     select * from UC_LIC where LIC_Platform = 'ex.os.zos'

2) If the checks completed in '1)' above are verified to be correct,  the problem may be the in the zOS Agent's "ini" file.  The (GLOBAL section of the "ini" file should not have any other section heading (ex.: USERID) that appears before the parameter "licence_class=".  Example:

(GLOBAL)
system=Automic
name=UC4ZOS

(USERID)
; Default Logon to Automic System
client=30
user=UC4U001
dept=XXXXXXX
pass=Automic

language=(E,D)
logging='XXX.UC4.TEST.WORK.LOG##'
logcount=10
; logPurgeClass=A
helplib='SYS2.UC4.UCX.MSL'
helpcache=ALL
licence_class=9
....
?

Solution

Remove the invalid entry (section heading) from the (GLOBAL) section.  Example:

(GLOBAL)
system=Automic
name=UC4ZOS
language=(E,D)
logging='XXX.UC4.TEST.WORK.LOG##'
logcount=10
; logPurgeClass=A
helplib='SYS2.UC4.UCX.MSL'
helpcache=ALL
licence_class=9
