wrapper.log files are large in size on CAPC

Summary:  

This knowledge article is for making changes to the wrapper.conf, so the wrapper.log rotates and does not get to large

 

Environment:

CAPM versions up to but not including 2.8

 

Instructions: 

- Stop all CAPC services

  1. /etc/init.d/caperfcenter_console stop 
  2. /etc/init.d/caperfcenter_eventmanager stop 
  3. /etc/init.d/caperfcenter_sso stop 
  4. /etc/init.d/caperfcenter_devicemanager stop

- cd /opt/CA/PerformanceCenter/<service>/conf/

    - where service is PC / DM / EM / sso

- Add the following lines to wrapper.conf

  1. wrapper.logfile.rollmode=DATE
  2. wrapper.logfile.maxfiles=5
  3. wrapper.logfile.purge.sort=TIMES

- Modify the following setting in each wrapper.conf:

  1. wrapper.logfile=../logs/wrapper_log.YYYYMMDD

 

- In /opt/CA/PerformanceCenter/sso/conf/ make sure wrapper.debug=TRUE is commented out

 

- Start CAPC services

  1. /etc/init.d/caperfcenter_devicemanager start 
  2. /etc/init.d/caperfcenter_sso start 
  3. /etc/init.d/caperfcenter_eventmanager start 
  4. /etc/init.d/caperfcenter_console start 

 

Additional Information: 

These settings will keep 5 wrapper.conf files and they will roll over daily.  Resolved in 2.8
