Question:

Will any additional overhead associated with PSA collections show up as higher resource usage in the Xmanager task? If not, what tool can be used to determine the overhead?

Environment:
z/OS 1.11 and above.
Answer:

Subsystem Analyzer collections will have normal overhead to collect DB2 getpage and I/O statistics. The overhead is attributed to application. You can always run CA mainframe application tuner or Strobe against a DB2 application to monitor the CPU usage. The CPU usage that will show up for PSA modules like PSACGEC0 or PSACUTC0 is associated with Subsystem analyzer collection.
