Question

Why is the 'operating_system' field that is visible at the database level in the ca_owned_resource table, not visible in the CA Service Desk Manager (CA SDM) schema?

Answer

The operating_system field, although it exists within the physical MDB database (ca_owned_resource table) and in the CA SDM DDICT.sch file, is not exposed at the CA SDM majic\object layer as it is not necessarily used by CA SDM.

Therefore, you will not see it when you run the "bop_sinfo -dq nr" command or within Web Screen Painter.

A customization would be required to expose the operating_system field - you would need to add an additional attribute (i.e. zoperating_system) but point\reference (SREL) to the existing table (opsysx).

Please be advised that schema customizations are outside the scope of CA Support.
