On the Resource, Financial Properties page, the lookup browse window displays a list of the relationships between Locations and Departments. However, on the Project, Financial Properties page, the lookup browse window only displays Locations or only displays Departments for either field. Why is there a difference?
The Resource, Financial Properties page behaves in the same manner as it worked in earlier versions.
The Project, Financial Properties has been changed from using XDE technology to now using ODF technology. Therefore a new object in Studio is available for the Project Financial Properties. Now, in current versions of the application, all the financial attributes associated with an investment can be configured to suit the customer's needs. Changing the Project Financial Properties to use Studio also allows greater flexibility in managing and using the attribute data for this object throughout the application. The customer now has the benefit of configuring these attributes in Portlets, managing the display of these attributes on the object pages and also the benefit of using the attributes in BPM process definitions.
The 'Department' attribute and the 'Location' attribute are dependent by the use of a parameterized lookup. The list of values shown to the end-user is only a list of 'Departments' for the 'Department' attribute. Based on the Department selected, the list of values shown to the end-user is only a list of 'Locations' for the 'Location' attribute.
