Question:

Why I am getting the error AMC000001 (An unknown or unhandled error occurred) when trying to access the asset job status list of the computers running a job?

Environment:
Client Automation 14.0 and 14.0 SP1
Answer:

This error message usually reveals a corruption or a inconsistency in the data being managed by amManager.

In order to get rid of this wrong cached data, please proceed as follows:

Open a DOS command prompt window with elevation (as Administrator).

Stop the amManager by running the command:

caf stop ammanager

and verify it is actually stopped by running:

caf status

       after_stopping_ammanager.jpg

You can also check in Task Manager that amManager (process amObjectManager.exe) is not running:

       Task_Manager_Without_amManager.jpg

After that, restart amManager by running:

caf start ammanager

And verify it is actually running with the command:

caf status

       after_restarting_ammanager.jpg

You can now check in Task Manager that amManager (process amObjectManager.exe) is running:

       Task_Manager_With_amManager.jpg

The status of the job should be correctly retrieved now.
