Why does message IPSA1603 No entry found in MIB table for OSA CHPID E0 returned on OSA Summary display?

Introduction:

After an IP Express Setup, an OSA resource is discovered, but when it is checked using CHK line command, it appears as degraded with error IPSA1603 No entry found in MIB table for OSA CHPID E0 .

 

Question:

Why does message IPSA1603 No entry found in MIB table for OSA CHPID E0 returned on OSA Summary display?

Answer:

There may be a few reasons, but one of them is because of 'Use SNMP' field in the OSA resource definition is set with YES while the SNMP Agent (i.e.: IOBSNMP) is not active.
