Introduction:

Trying to run TMSBLDVR to identify defined volser ranges in our existing enhanced format TMC.

This worked fine when I used it to identify volser ranges before we converted to enhanced TMC.

Question:

Why does TMSBLDVR Abend with S0C7?

Environment:
CA 1 Tape Management r12.6 and r14.0
Answer:

You need to code a //SYSIN DD DUMMY JCL statement.

Alternatively, run utility TMSBINQ with HEADERS control statement to list your current ranges.

Additional Information:

JCL Considerations

  • SYSIN
This DD defines the control statement input data set. When run in standalone mode TMSBLDVR will validate that the
function requested is proper for the requested range.
