Introduction:

When creating a Webi report on top of the bex query, appear the header which consists of actual date, time, report name etc.

This information can be visualized in the BI console when checking the report created but this information doesn't appear when export the report and open it in excel.

Question:

Why a webi report exported to excel doesn't contain the header with the report name and actual date, time, report name etc?

Environment:
- Web Intelligence XI 3.x- Web Intelligence BI4.x
Answer:

It is design behavior. Items included in Header section won't appear in Excel.

Workaround 1:

  • Place header and footer cells inside report page.
  • If you have reports with many pages, click Format Cell > Alignment > Repeat on every page.

Workaround 2:

  • Save the Desktop Intelligence as excel.
  • Open the saved Excel file and place the table headers in the page header of excel and it will automatically get displayed on each page.
