Why am I receiving the message:GIM48101I THE volume=* ATTRIBUTE WAS IGNORED BY GIMUNZIP WHEN PROCESSING CAI.TSSG0G0.SMPMCS? This causes failure installing the base package for CA Top Secret.

Issue:

Attempting to install Top Secret V16 via CSM 6.0, I get these messages during gimunzip of the base install package:

SMPOUT: GIM48101I THE volume=* ATTRIBUTE WAS IGNORED BY GIMUNZIP WHEN PROCESSING CAI.TSSG0G0.SMPMCS.

GIM46800I SYS2.CSM.ZIPTEMP.MSMTC.P1.SMPMCS WAS EXTRACTED FROM ARCHIVE CAI.TSSG0G0.SMPMCS.

GIM48101I THE volume=* ATTRIBUTE WAS IGNORED BY GIMUNZIP WHEN PROCESSING CAI.CAKOG00.F1.

GIM68100S ** DATA SET SYS2.CSM.ZIPTEMP.MSMTC.P1.CAI.CAKOG00.F1 COULD NOT BE EXTRACTED FROM ARCHIVE CAI.CAKOG00.F1

BECAUSE COPY PROCESSING FAILED. THE RETURN CODE FROM THE COPY UTILITY WAS 8.

GIM63700I THE ORIGINAL DATA SET IN ARCHIVE CAI.CAKOG00.F1 HAS THE FOLLOWING ATTRIBUTES: LRECL= 0, RECFM=U, BLKSIZE= 6144.

Environment:
CSM 6.0
Cause:

The SMS routines did not handle  the '*' wildcard to allow dynamic volser allocation.

Resolution:

In CSM, under Settings/User (or System) /Software Installation, specifying a specific volume Ifor the GIMUNZIP Temporary VOLSER, and then hitting 'Appy' allowed the subsequent install of Top Secret to succeed.
