Question:

Why am I getting the message: 'ACF79792 ACTIVATE BIT NOT SET IN GSO SYNCOPTS RECORD' ?

Answer:

The cache synchronizer can only be started if ACTIVATE is set in the GSO SYNCOPTS. If ACTIVATE is not set in the GSO SYNCOPTS message ACF79792 will be issued.

This is documented in the ACF2 Documentation in section 'GSO Records Used for Synchronization'.
