While setting up a new policy server and policy store, getting the following error while running XPSDDInstall SmMaster.xdd
Error occurred during "Modify" for "xpsParameter=CA.XPS::$PolicyStoreID,ou=XPS,ou=policysvr4,ou=siteminder,ou=netegrity,O=Test", text: Invalid DN syntax
Save Policy Store ID failed.
Unable to initialize the XPS library.
Policy Store is CA Directory Server and has all the schema and base structure as documented.
Why am I getting this error?
CA Directory logs show there is no problem at the CA Directory side.
Client(PolicyServer) is ABORTing the connection after getting result for the ldap searches.
When you install Policy Server, both Policy Store and Key Store need to be specified.
You should either configure the Policy Store and Key Store to be in separate source or same source.
Whichever you choose, that must be reflected in the Policy Server Management Console.
If you have configured the Policy Store information but leave Key Store information unconfigured, you will get into this error.
Select "Key Store" at the "Data" tab and see if it has been configured properly.
If you have satisfied the above Cause#1 but getting the same error, you need to check if the schema is in place.
Using JXPlorer, please navigate to "Schema" tab and at the "ObjectClasses" see if you find sm* and xps* objectclasses.
If you do not find them, then you need to update your DSA server dxi file to make sure you have referenced the correct schema dxg file.
Once the correct schema files are referenced, you will need to restart DSA instance to reflect the changes.
