When trying to start DNA on a Linux server, the message "Error starting DIA DNA daemon" appears. DNA will not start.

Description:

Trying to start the DNA service with the "unicntrl" command or with the "dnacntl" command, but neither one is working. It says "error starting":

unicntrl start CA-diadna
Starting DIA DNA daemon...
Error starting DIA DNA daemon
Executed CA-diadna start.........................................FAIL 1

./dnacntl start
Starting DIA DNA daemon...
Error starting DIA DNA daemon

Solution:

Check whether the DNA service log (dnasvc0.log) shows the following:

...
Enough space for object
Error occurred during initialization of VM
Could not reserve enough space for object heap

The above error indicates that the problem is due to the amount of free memory available at the time of DNA startup.

DNA needs more memory to start than the free memory available on the system.
