When trying to promote a Package, the following error message can be encountered:
E0302067c (the associated package XX is in a rejected state an its not more useful.)
How can the dependency of that Package from the main Package be removed so that it can be promoted?
There is dependency in one Package upon another that contains Items needed by the first.
In that case the second Package is being rejected and the first one cannot be promoted.
There is an option in the Promote process called Verify Package Dependency that could be unchecked. However this may not solve the problem as the Package being rejected contains a Path and other Items needed by the first Package.
Those are the possible solutions:
- Switch the Package of the Items in the Package rejected that are needed by the first Package to be able to promote the first package. This need that both Packages are in the same State.
- Approve the Package that appears rejected and continue promotion of both Packages.
- Switch Package is a process that moves versions from a source Package to a target Package.
- Details of the option Verify Package Dependency and Switch Package process could be found in the CA Software Change Manager Administrator Guide .
