Description:

When running the CA SDM Configuration utility (pdm_configure), after the third task "Apply initial configuration settings", the rest of the steps are skipped, but the message "Configuration as completed successfully" is still displayed.

Errors similar to the following appear in the CONFIGURE.LOG file located in the NX_ROOT\LOG folder

Running: Configure Tomcat integration
Exception in thread "ConfigThread: Configure Tomcat integration" java.lang.NullPointerException
at com.ca.ServicePlus.configui.tasks.InstallTomcatTask.run(InstallTomcatTask.java:111)
at com.ca.ServicePlus.wizard.task.Task.start(Task.java:215)
at com.ca.ServicePlus.configui.ConfigThread.run(ConfigThread.java:540)

Solution:

The most common cause of this behavior is that the CA SDM Configuration utility cannot locate the Tomcat install directory.

Ensure the following variables within the following configuration files have the correct directory path for the Tomcat install directory (i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\SC\Tomcat\7.0.23)

NX.ENV (located in NX_ROOT)

@NX_TOMCAT_INSTALL_DIR

CONFIG.PROPERTIES (located in NX_ROOT\SITE)

web.tomcat_home
web.cawf_tomcat_home
