Description:

When attempting to update a CI, following error is received - "Owned by CA Asset Portfolio Manager - access is restricted"

Solution:

  1. Login to Service Desk as an Administrator
  2. Navigate to Administration tab -> Options Manager -> Asset Information Service
  3. Install the "allow_unrestricted_asset_upd" option and ensure that the value is set to "Yes:
  4. Recycle the Service Desk service
  5. Attempt to update the CI

Please note that if you install this option, the users will be able to modify the CI belong to CA Asset Portfolio Management.

If Service Desk mdb is shared with CA Asset portfolio Manager you should consider not enabling this option.
