Issue:

When attempting to save a project back from MSP (Microsoft Project) to PPM, receive an error: Invalid value for field prName [Task Name].

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Create a new project in Microsoft Project

2. Create one task with a task name greater than 150 characters 

3. Enter Start and Finish Dates for the task if not there already (values are required for saving a project to PPM)

4. Attempt to Save the project back to PPM

Expected Results: Project saves successfully to PPM

Actual Results: Receive error Invalid value for field prName [Task Name] (Task Name is the name of the task greater than 150 characters)

Environment:
Applies to all supported PAS environments for specified releases.
Cause:

This is working as designed. The maximum character length for a task in PPM is 150 characters. 

Resolution:

Reduce the task name for the task in Microsoft Project to be less than 150 characters. 

Tip: To check the length of task name:

1. Copy and paste the task name into to Microsoft Word

2. Click on the 'Review' tab

3. Click on the 'Word Count' button

A popup message will display that will show you the character count
