What steps to take to upgrade the CA Vantage Windows Client

Introduction:

To check the level of your Windows Client, go to the Main Toolbar / Help / About.
The level will be listed like:  12.7.793.

Instructions:

If you are running an older version of the WC and you MUST PRESERVE your
customization, you must install/upgrade your WC in steps.
Please refer to the listed Knowledge Documents for details to install/upgrade the Windows Client.
 
If you are at B871, then install the latest Patch 3.  [KD: TEC1333623]
If you are at B793, then install B871, then install the latest Patch.  [KD: TEC1812777]
It you are at B655 or B744, then install B793, then install B871, then install the latest Patch.  [KD: TEC1129137]
If you are at B565, then install B655, then install B793, then install B871, then install the latest Patch.  [KD: TEC1872407]
 
If you are using an older version of the WC, and you do NOT have a need to preserve
your customization, you can do this:
1. Write down your Host Definition information so you can define this when your new install is done.
2. Go to:  Control Panel / Programs and Features, then uninstall: CA SRM Windows Client.
Be sure that the folder, BrightStor SRM Data, has been completely deleted.
3. Install B871 plus Patch 3.  See KD: TEC1333623
