Introduction:

Recently, we've had a couple of issues with the Schedule Manager failing on different LPARs. On 2/18 @ 1:00, SSM had 2 SAS tasks that stopped, then restarted at 01:05. The shutdown worked, but the restart did not.

Question:

What should the Service Class of CA OPS/MVS be in relation to other tasks?

Environment:
CA OPS/MVS? Event Management and Automation for JES2 - MVS Release:12.2
Answer:

The service class/z/OS Workload Manager performance class to run CA OPS/MVS should be high and equal to JES. This a good rule of thumb. If you have it set to a lower class, this could cause problems if OPS/MVS is not getting enough cycles.
