Question:

What is the root@Xsuite entry in rsa.key downloaded from PAM server to schedule backup? Is this trying to connect as root account to the remote server to copy the backup?

Answer:

The user@hostname part in the key is just a comment. You can set your own comment by using the -C option or for existing keys change it with -c(http://man7.org/linux/man-pages/man1/ssh-keygen.1.html) .So, PAM is not trying to connect to the remote server as root.

Changing the comment will not affect the key. So, you can change it to superduperuser@somfancyhostname.
