Introduction:

On occasion it may become necessary to clean up the Job Transfer Data.

For Example whilst a job was ongoing the Domain Server suffered an unexpected Operating System Failure.

When the Server was restarted the job container has vanished and the sd_mgr_ft.exe process is now using 100% CPU.

Question:

What is the procedure to Clean up Job Transfer Data ?

Environment:
CA Client Automation - All Versions
Answer:

Stop the Common Application Framework Server

  1. CAF STOP
  2. Create a folder called "CLEANSTART" at the following location
      [CMS install path]\sd\asm\database\ftm_journals
  3. Start the Common Application Framework Server
      CAF START

When the caf process sdmgr_ft starts it will recognize this folder and clean out all the existing job transfer data.

It then removes the "CLEANSTART" folder and resumes normal operation.
