Question:
What is the difference between the Status Indicator on the project and the Schedule Status on the Status Report?
Answer:
These are two different manually updated fields with similar a type of functionality that indicate the health of the project. Below is a breakdown of some of the features of these attributs:

Schedule Status

  • Attribute is available on the Status Report object
  • Scheduled Status is displayed in reports that use Status Report information such as:
    • Project Storyboard
    • Project Status Summary (it's included in the calculation for the field Overall Status (See:Project Status Summary for more details on how the calculation is determined for that field)
Stoplights:
Green. The project or program is on track.
Yellow. The project or program needs help.
Red. The project or program is at risk.

Status Indicator

  • Out of the box is found on the Project Object's Schedule & Performance subpage
Stoplights:
Green. The project or program is on track.
Yellow. The project or program is at risk.
Red. The project or program is in critical status.

Note: If you want these to match on both the Project Object and Status Report object, the one option would be to create a virtual attribute of the Status Indicator on the Status Report object.

  • Note, to see the image indicator on the Status Report page, go into Fields and check the Image checkbox for the new custom virtual attribute.
