Introduction:
  • API Developer Portal 3.5 and lower include a forum feature provided by an application called jForum. This is separate from the code developed by Broadcom.
Question:
  • What is the property jforumApiKey (which is set in /opt/Deployments/lrs/server/webapps/ROOT/site-configuration.xml) used for?
  • Can we change the above property from a value other than "THELEVEL"?
Environment:
  • API Developer Portal ("Portal") version 3.5 and lower.
Answer:
  • The jforumApiKey is used for various internal purposes. An example of its use is the API Portal making calls to itself which uses that jForum API key for refreshing or clearing the cache of the forum functionality.
  • It has not been officially tested with any other value other than "THELEVEL" so repercussions of changing it would be unpredictable and therefore unsupported. This property is not a documented customizable option of the Portal.
