When installing or upgrading CA Harvest SCM Server, one aspect of this involves creating or upgrading the Harvest database.
What is the purpose of the HDBSetup utility and how is it used?

The CA Harvest SCM utility can perform several functions related to installing and upgrading the Harvest database:
CR - Create SCM Repository
This function will create a new CA Harvest SCM database
CO - Configure ODBC DSN
This function will create or update an ODBC Data Source connecting to your new or existing CA Harvest SCM database
TR - Test for SCM Repository Existence
This function will check the location you specify to see if there is a CA Harvest SCM database there.
UR - Upgrade SCM Repository
This function will upgrade an existing CA Harvest SCM database.
DR - Delete SCM Repository
This function will delete an existing CA Harvest SCM database.
EP - Encrypt DB Username and Password
This function will create an encrypted password file (hsvr.dfo) containing the login userid and password that the SCM Server software will use to connect to your CA Harvest SCM database.
LP - Load Projects
This function will create several example project lifecycle templates in your CA Harvest SCM database. You need only use this function if you are creating a new database.
LF - Load Forms
This function will create several example form types in your CA Harvest SCM database. You need only use this function if you are creating a new database.
You are provided an option to execute this utility at the end of a CA Harvest SCM Server installation or upgrade. The utility is also installed with the rest of your CA Harvest SCM utilities and can be executed from a command prompt with the command “hdbsetup”.
