Problem:

When trying to edit or browse a member with CA Librarian ELIPS, get a file allocation error:

DDNAME: LIBITDD1
DSNAME:

THE SYSTEM HAS REJECTED ALLOCATION OF THE ABOVE DATASET FOR THE FOLLOWING
REASONS:
IKJ56241I UTILITY DATA SET NOT ALLOCATED+

Environment:

CA Librarian V4.4

Cause:

This error normally indicates that ELIPS is unable to use the virtual I/O unit named in the ELIPSGEN UNIT keyword to allocate the transient files needed when editing or browsing CA Librarian Master file members.

Resolution:

1.  In the ELIPSGEN member  LUELIGEN in the CALJJCL library, change the UNIT= keyword from VIO to SYSDA.

2.  Reassemble and link the updated ELIPSGEN.
