Question:

What files should be backed up to maintain consistency, in case of disaster recovery?

Environment:
z/OS 1.11 and above.
Answer:

If you choose to backup your Detector data, both items below should be included to ensure consistency:

1) Your Control File

2) Your 3 Datastore History files

You may also want to backup your Collection Profile. That way, if a system failure occurs & you have to use your backup files, you'll ensure that you're collecting data using the same settings as before.

If you run Subsystem Analyzer collections & want to back up your data, both items below should be included to ensure consistency:

1) Your Control File

2) Your 2 Datastore History files

None of the files above are contained in the PTDB database.
