What does "5052 - IDApi/IDManager interfacing" error mean when making a deployment?

Description:

If deployment of software via a Distribution server fails with this error message:

Status code: 5052

Message:
IDApi/IDManager interfacing error

Reason:
An Abnormal response or status code has been received from the underlying remote installation component (ID).

Then please use the solution mentioned.

Solution:

This error message can mean the IDManager was not installed at the Distribution server.

  1. Copy these files to a directory on the local disk, e.g.: c:\idreinstall, along with the IDManager_Setup.bin & IDManager_Setup.exe from the DVD image directory:

    DVD1\Installers\Windows\External\CAIDManager. Then, in a command window cd to that location and run:

    > sm_manager_remove.bat> sm_manager_install.bat> idmanager version (should be 1.1020.0)> idmanager status /p SM> idmanager stop /p SM (if running)> sc stop CASMDstrbnSrvr> sc start CASMDstrbnSrvr

  2. After reinstalling idmanager (or if it was already reinstalled):

    1. Drop the attached CAWinExF.dll to C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\SC\CAWIN

    2. Modify C:\Program Files (x86)\CA\SC\IDMgrApi\config\SM\idconfig.xml
