Question:

What do I do if I get an Packaging Failed error when download Adobe FlashPlayer <version Number> ActiveX
or Adobe FlashPlayer <version Number> Plugin from CA Patch Manager ?

Environment:

CA Client Automation  - All Versions

CA Patch Manager  - All Versions

Answer:

Adobe Acrobat creates new updates of Adobe Flashplayer all the time and they sometimes they change the file size or properties
for the version you are downloading, after they were Published.

Since CA creates a cheksum file for each patch to make sure the patches were downloaded without any corruption,
if the file size or properties of a file is changed it will the checksum test.

You can always try to download the patch again or try on another Patch Manager setup if you have one, to see if they also fail.
If not try another patch and see if they work.

If the other patches work and the Adobe patches fail, you will have to create a support case and Support will have to go to the
Content Team and get them to fix the Adobe patch versions or checksum for those patches.

Additional Information:

Although the I have seen this mainly with the  Adobe FlashPlayer patches, I have seen this with other Company patches,
so if only one of all the patches you have download fail, create a case and Support can usually test on our side and if we
also have an issue we can get content to resolve the issue.
