Introduction: 

You can specify a maximum of 64 single-byte or 32 double-byte characters using the letters A through Z and a through z, the numbers 0 through 9, dashes ( - ), periods( . ), underscores ( _ ), colons ( : ), and slashes ( / ).

What characters are restricted from element names?

Environment:  

All supported eHealth versions and their supported operating systems.

Answer: 

The following characters are prohibited from use in element names in eHealth:

~ ` ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) + = [ ] { } ; ' " < > ? space and tab

Additional Information:

 

eHealth reports may truncate long element names and eHealth itself will truncate any name exceeding 64 characters, generally causing duplicate elements.
