Introduction:

APM Support is committed to documented helpful Supportability metrics. This metric is mentioned in

MOM - Collectors Connected (Collectors Connection Status)

This dashboard shows the overall health of the Collectors Connection Status. It displays an alert for Connection Status for Collector 1.

You can customize this dashboard to display alerts for all Collectors in the cluster. For information about customizing dashboards, see Creating and Editing Dashboards.

But not in https://docops.ca.com/ca-apm/10-1/en/using/apm-metrics/cluster-supportability-metrics.

Question:

I am interested in knowing more about MOM - Collectors Connected (Collectors Connection Status).

It can be found in the Investigator tree under Custom Metric Host -> Custom Metric Process > Custom Metric Agent -> MOM -> Collectors -> <Collector host/IP@port #> -> Connected

I am getting a value of 3. What does that mean?

Environment:
All APM releases
Answer:

In a federated Introscope environment, a Metric Category called MOM will appear in the Enterprise Manager node listed under the Custom Metric Agent (Virtual) (*SuperDomain*) node.  This Category contains a metric which measures the total number of Metrics sent to the MOM by Collectors. The MOM –> Collector connection status is defined by the following values:

• 0 - no status

• 1 - OK

• 2 - Running Slowly

• 3 - Not Connected

So 3 means the Collector is not Connected to the MOM at this time.
