Introduction:

CA Client Automation uses Tomcat for the Contentdownload,

but the version we include might not always be the latest version

or a newer versions might come out after our media is released.

Question:

What are the Steps to migrate Tomcat to the latest version for Content Import Client (CIC) ?

Environment:
CA Client Automation - All Versions
Answer:

Please follow the below steps to migrate to the latest version of Tomcat for Contentdownload :

 

1.      Download the latest version of Tomcat from http://tomcat.apache.org

 

2.      Extract the contents of Tomcat zip file.

 

3.      Stop/Kill all the CIC related process and unlink the ‘Default software content download job’ from engine.

 

4.      Back up the CIC folder present under ...\CA\SC directory.

 

5.      Copy the contents of extracted Tomcat zip to   .....\CA\SC\CIC\Tomcat folder.

         Make sure to preserve the directory structure.

 

6.      Copy cicmanager.war file and CICManager folder located under ...\CA\CIC\Tomcat\webapps folder from the backup to

         .... \CA\SC\CIC\Tomcat\webapps  folder.

 

7.     Link the ‘Default software content download job’ to the engine and execute.
