What are the steps to create a Linux software package for use with CA Client Automation Software Delivery ?

1. Create a directory containing the .deb file (ex: 7zip.deb) create a script shell containing these lines (eg : install.sh)
This should be done on the Linux server using vi editor. then tar up the script file up and transfer to Domain Manager in binary mode to prevent file corruption. Then untar on Windows and create the software package.
/usr/bin/dpkg -i 7zip.deb
2. Open the DSM Explorer and create a new software package a new Software Delivery Package with the 2 files in the source and put install.sh as install procedure:
3. Seal the package and now it it is ready to be deployed to applicable operating systems.
The example script could also be modified to be used for other Linux versions and UNIX platforms as long as you call the correct installer files
EG: On Redhat you could use full path to rpm -i <filename.rpm> .
