Are there any differences between setting the services to start manually or automatically in Windows? Does it matter if we start the services with the commands, Windows GUI, or the CSA (CA PPM System Administration application)?
In a Windows environment the services can be started in multiple ways. You can also set the services to start up manually or automatically when the server is restarted.
There are no differences with performance or anything else depending on how the services are started in a Windows environment. Whether they are started, in the CSA, Windows GUI, or the command line via the start command, they all perform the same action.
If the services are set to start manually, when the server is restarted, the services will not start automatically. A server administrator will have to manually start the services. If the services are set to automatic, when the server is rebooted the services will automatically start with no intervention.
