When you are searching in CA Support Online or in docops.ca.com for problems or solutions relating to a specific CA-Datacom/DB return code, remember the following points:
- Specify DB external return codes in the range of 01 through 09 as a two-digit number and ren codes 10 and above as whole numbers.
Example: For a return code 02 error, specify the keyword of 02 instead of 2 while 91 should be specified as 91.
- Specify DB internal return codes without leading zeros and surrounded by parentheses.
- Specify an external and internal return code as two separate keywords ANDed together. For internal return codes, use the decimal number
Example: For a return code 68(03) error, specify the following two keywords: 68 and (3).
- If you don't find information specifying both the external and internal return codes, try just specifying the external return code.
(Moving from a more specific search to a more general search may be helpful in many keyword-searching situations.)
Example: If you don't find what you want for a return code 80(15) specifying two separate keywords of 80 and (15), try removing the (15) from the search.
NOTE: Whether you are using support.ca.com or docops.ca.com, you must first log on, and then locate the CA Datacom/DB Message Guide.
