WebAgent trace file shows message "Either no active clusters found or current cluster index has been reset to enable fail-back/fail-over" when failing back from cluster-2 to cluster-1.

Description:

There are multiple clusters configured in the Policy server admin GUI host config object.
The cluster #1 and #2 has been configured in failover mode.
The policy servers in cluster-1 are stopped to make the webagent to failover to cluster-2.

After the policy servers cluster-1 are brought back online and the webagent fails back to the original cluster. At this time when web agent changes the state of cluster from inactive to active and web agent logs the message "No active clusters found." (But actually the cluster is active).

Following message is logged in webagent Trace log file:

     "Either no active clusters found or current cluster index has been reset to enable fail-back/fail-over" while failing back from ACTIVE Cluster #2 to ACTIVE Cluster #1.

Solution:

The working of web agent is as per expected but the message logged when failing back to the cluster is incorrect.

So, The messages logged in web agent Trace log, when agent fails back to a cluster has been corrected in the latest release of Site Minder Web Agent 6.0SP6 (for 6.x releases) and R12 SP2 CR1 (for R12 releases).
