Question:

We have noticed that the resource class CSFKEYS TYPE(KYS) shows as being resident in the ACF SHOW RESIDENT output however it is not in the GSO RESDIR or GSO INFODIR record. How is it made resident?

Answer:

The resource TYPE is not in the GSO RESIDIR or INFODIR record. Immediately after an IPL it does not show up in the ACF SHOW RESIDENT list of resident "RESIDENT INFOSTORAGE DIRECTORIES", however at some later point in time it does show up as resident.

A program can issue a RACROUTE REQUEST=LIST request to make a resource class resident. IBM documentation indicates that ICSF issues RACROUTE REQUEST=LIST for the classes CSFSERV and CSFKEYS during initialization.

The CSFM009I message is issued if the directory build fails:

CSFM009I NO ACCESS CONTROL AVAILABLE FOR ICSF SERVICES OR KEYS

Explanation:
ICSF issues this message if it is unable to perform RACROUTE REQUEST=LIST
for the classes CSFSERV and/or CSFKEYS during initialization.

Once this racroute request is completed successfully, the resource class will show in the resident directory list.
