We have just installed a new robot and it is not showing up in IM or admin Console. How can we trouble shoot this?

Problem:

We just installed a new robot but we are not seeing it in Infrastructure Manager (IM) nor do we see it in admin_console.
What can be the problem?
And how can we solve it?
 

Solution:

Things to check
1) in the robot.cfg check the following fields are correct for spelling and Capitalization, UIM names are case sensitive.
domain =
hub =
hubip =
hubrobotname =
hubport = 48002
 
(The above can be checked against the same fields in the robot.cfg on the hub the robot is supposed to be reporting to)


I would also suggest checking the following
ip_version = ipv4
first_probe_port = 48000

if the system has multiple NIC's please make sure to set the robotip = to the IP address of the NIC that communicates with the hub.

Also check to make sure the firewall has ports 48000-48050 open bidirectionally with the hub.
This can be tested with telnet from each side.
