A backup job abends with the following message:
VMBCFG0911E CONFIG RECORD 34: VIRTUAL ADDRESS 0nnn ON THE TAPEDISK RECORD IS NOT A HEX NUMBER OR IS NOT ALLOWED BY VM:BACKUP.
The address in the error message corresponds to the address in a TAPEDISK nnn record in the CONFIG FILE.
CA VM:Backup. Any release
1) The disk address must be four digits, and must be followed by a label.
2) Each TAPEDISK record must be followed by a corresponding TAPEPOOL record in the VMBACKUP CONFIG file.
Check your VMBACKUP CONFIG file. It should have something like:
TAPEDISK 0101 DSK101
TAPEDISK 0102 DSK102
TAPEDISK 0103 DSK103 TAPEPOOL DSKTAP01 MEDIA DASD 101 2400 HOLD TAPEPOOL DSKTAP02 MEDIA DASD 102 2400 HOLD TAPEPOOL DSKTAP03 MEDIA DASD 103 2400 HOLD SUPERPOOL DSKTAP01 DSKTAP02 DSKTAP03
