Issue:

UAR Support will sometimes request AgentDiagnostics utility output as part of the troubleshooting steps.

Environment:

All UAR versions from 12.5.01 to 12.6 SP2

Resolution:

To run the AgentDiagnostics utility:

Logon to the UAR Agent server as a user with rights to run processes.

Navigate to the CA User Activity Reporting Agent bin directory.

Default path in Windows: C:\Program Files\CA\elmagent\bin

  Default path in UNIX/Linux: /opt/CA/ELMAgent/bin

Do one of the following steps:

If you are running the agent on a Windows system, run the AgentDiagnostics.bat file.

If you are running the agent on a UNIX/Linux system, run: ./AgentDiagnostics.sh

An agent diagnostic file is created with the file format agenthostname_DDMMYYYY_HHMM.tar.gz. (It can take several minutes for the process to complete)
Please attach the *.tar.gz file to the case for review.

Additional Information:

Note: Some of the information in the resulting file can be sensitive, for example, IP addresses, system configurations, hardware logs, and process logs.
