On Linux environment, after using CA APM 10.7 installer to successfully upgrade 10.5.2 APM DB database the new Postgres directory /opt/PostgreSQL-9.6.2 and service postgresql-9.6 are created as expected.
However the previous Postgres directory /opt/PostgreSQL-9.2.20 remains.
For a root install the service postgreSQL-9.2 also still remains.
Both services are configured to startup on server restart i.e.
# chkconfig --list|grep -i postgres
postgresql-9.2 0:off 1:off 2:on 3:on 4:on 5:on 6:off
postgresql-9.6 0:off 1:off 2:on 3:on 4:on 5:on 6:off

NOTE: For a non-root Postgres install no service is created by default.

Similar behaviour occurs for Postgres upgrade on Windows environment i.e.
New Postgres directory C:\Program Files\CA APM\PostgreSQL-9.6.2 and service postgresql-x64-9.6 are created with Automatic startup.
The previous Postgres directory C:\Program Files\CA APM\PostgreSQL-9.2.20 and service "pgsql-9.2 - PostgreSQL Server 9.2" still remain.

APM 10.7
The previous installation itself is not a cause for concern but the service should be disabled i.e.
chkconfig postgresql-9.2 off
chkconfig --list|grep -i postgres
postgresql-9.2  0:off   1:off   2:off   3:off   4:off   5:off   6:off
postgresql-9.6  0:off   1:off   2:on    3:on    4:on    5:on    6:off

Under Control Panel/Administrative Tools/Services set the service "pgsql-9.2 - PostgreSQL Server 9.2" to have a Startup of Disabled.
