Issue:

During an Autosys upgrade, I am prompted to enter details of a second event server while it no longer exists in my environment

Environment:
This is an upgrade to CA WAAE 11.3.6 SP6 but it might happen with any other upgrade on Unix/Linux
Cause:

A previous installation in Dual Event Server mode had been done on the machine and manually reconfigured to be in Single Server Mode afterwards

Resolution:

All the installation options are stored in file $AUTOSYS/install/vars$AUTOSERV

For example in /opt/CA/WorkloadAutomationAE/autosys/install/varsORA if the instance name is ORA

In a dual server installation, you can find these below attributes if the dataserver is Oracle and primary SID is XE while secondary is XF

ORA_PRI_SVR_SAV="XE"

ORA_SEC_SVR_SAV="XF"

While in a Single server installation mode where the Oracle SID is orcl, it contains

ORA_PRI_SVR_SAV="orcl"

ORA_SEC_SVR_SAV="PH"

Therefore the solution, if you initially installed Autosys in Dual Server mode and manually reconfigured it to Single server mode, is to reset variable ORA_SEC_SVR_SAV to PH

Additional Information:

For Sybase installations, the name of the variable is SYB_SEC_SVR_SAV

"PH" is a reserved identifier
