This technical document is to explain how to stop CA PIM daemons and unload our extension from the Windows kernel.

This is applicable for any Windows Server device that is currently certified by us.

Open a cmd prompt and assuming you are logged in as the Application Administrator, run:

  1. secons -s -> this should kill all core CA PIM endpoint services.  If it does not, please defer to the below steps.
  2. secons -sc -> kill any processes associated with the output.
  3. SEOS_load -u -> this should unload our kernel module from the machine.
  4. seosd -start -> the seload utility loads the CA PIM extension to the UNIX kernel and starts the CA PIM daemons.

You can also stop these Windows drivers associated with CA PIM endpoints.

  1. net stop seosdrv
  2. net stop cainstrm

If stopping CA PIM and unloading the kernel module still fails, the server needs to be rebooted.
