This technical document is to explain how to stop CA PIM daemons and unload our extension from the UNIX kernel.

Open a shell assuming you are logged in as the Application Administrator, run:

  1. # /opt/CA/AccessControl/bin/secons -sk -> this should kill all core CA PIM endpoint daemons.  If it does not, please defer to the below steps.
  2. # /opt/CA/AccessControl/bin/SEOS_load -u -> this should unload our kernel module from the machine.
  3. # /opt/CA/AccessControl/bin/issec -> confirm kernel extension is unloaded in the output.
  4. # /opt/CA/AccessControl/bin/seload -> the seload utility loads the CA PIM extension to the UNIX kernel and starts the CA PIM daemons.

If stopping CA PIM and unloading the kernel module still fails, the server needs to be rebooted.
