Issue:
A user attempts to save a CABI(Jaspersoft) "Device Trend Report" report in UIM and gets an error:
"An unexpected error prevented JasperReports from saving the report. Please contact your administrator"

This happens for the superuser as well.
Resolution:
The behaviour that you see is expected, this is NOT a bug on the UIM or JasperReports Server side.

The "Device Trend Report" that is being saved is an out of the box dynamic health report built and shipped by the CABI UIM development team within the uim_cabi_health_report_pack package.
These reports are dynamic in that they allow you to enter input values (i.e. Time Range, Device, Metrics) and generate a report based on those entries.
In order to create a copy of this report for your internal teams or customers, you must use the Export feature and export the report to whatever format is required (e.g. PDF).

It is not possible to "save" the device trend report so on each reopen it already has the same input values selected, this is by design.

The save option can only be used when creating custom reports within the JasperReports Server Web Console.
If you were to create an adhoc view based on UIM Metric Data then that would allow you to save the report.
The save feature then allows you reopen the same static adhoc report and, if required, export it to PDF format.
