Unable to reinstall the Spectrum Processd Service

Introduction:

Problem:

Due to maintenance on our Windows Servers, we ran into an issue where we had to reinstall the SPECTRUM Process Daemon Service. The processd --remove command ran fine, but we can't reinstall. We get the following error: 

"Requesting installation of service: "SPECTRUM Process Daemon 
"Error: Failure opening security policy -1073741790 CreateService error: 
installation failed: this service isn't currently installed".

 

Resolution:

This issue is known to happen when UAC is enabled on the User account running the processd --install command.

Disable UAC for the account you are using, reboot the server and then try running the processd --install command again.
