Unable to launch the OneClick Client

Issue:

The Java JRE was updated on all our workstations, and now no one is able to launch the OneClick client. When launching OneClick we getting an "Unable to launch application" error.

When looking at the Error Details we see:

"Unsigned application requesting unrestricted access to system

The following resource is signed with a weak message digest algorithm MD5 and is treated

as unsigned: http://<hostname>:<port>/spectrum/lib/clienttopo.jar;no_javaws_cheat"

 

 

Cause:

This is a recent change made by Oracle to Java Security. Oracle updated their security policy announcing that JRE versions released after April 2017 will no longer trust MD5 signed jar files. 

Resolution:

This change impacts all releases of Spectrum prior to Spectrum 10.2.0. 

To resolve this issue, down grade the JRE to an older release. CA recommends uninstalling the most recent JRE and reinstall the JRE release that shipped with your version of Spectrum, until you can upgrade to Spectrum 10.2.0 or greater.
