You are using CA Chorus Software Manager (CSM) to install the CA Common Variable Service (FMID: CFA9E10) for the first time. The installation fails due to a missing conditional sysmod. The SMP/E messages generated are as follows:
CFA9E10 CFA9E10 GIM35912I 1 CONDITIONAL REQUISITE SYSMOD RO60429 WAS MISSING.
--- POSSIBLE CAUSES ---
1. THE SYSMOD WAS NOT IN THE GLOBAL ZONE OR THE MCS WAS NOT IN THE SMPPTS DATA
2. THE SYSMOD WAS NOT SELECTED.
3. THE SYSMOD WAS NOT APPLIED IN THE TARGET ZONE.
According to the Cover Letter associated with this new service (RI64967) the following PTFs need to be applied and accepted prior to beginning the installation.
- CAIRIM (FMID CAS9E10) PTFs-
- CAMASTER (FMID CEI0E10) PTFs-
- CA HEALTH CHECKER (FMID CEF5E10) PTF-
When checking the SMP/E CSI, you find that PTF RO60429 shows as being received in the global zone and superseded in the target zone. Selecting the target zone you see that the superseding PTF is RO64952. So at this point the PTF is not accepted and needs to be according to the cover letter.
When checking within CA CSM you see that PTF RO60429 shows a status of "Received Superseded" with "No Action" available. Looking further you see that RO64952 shows a status of "Applied" with available actions such as: Restore, Accept, Accept Groupextend.
You ask yourself, What needs to be done to allow the installation to complete successfully?
In order to satisfy the requisite requirements, you need to Accept RO64952. Since RO64952 supersedes RO60429, once the accept is successful RO60429 will be superseded in both the target and distribution zones, and CA CSM will simply show "Superseded". This will allow the installation of the CA Common Variable Service to complete successfully.
So select ACCEPT GROUPEXTEND as the action for RO64952 and step through the maintenance wizard to allow for the PTF to be accepted. You will likely need to specify HOLDSYSTEM as the BYPASS condition to allow the PTF(s) to be accepted. Be careful to review the HOLDDATA prior to actually running the accept.
If the above described scenario does not match your situation, the important fact is that the above mentioned PTFs all need to be accepted. So take the appropriate action to get each accepted into the distribution zone.
