Issue:

Trying to configure an attribute to be included in the Data Warehouse in Studio:
Object: <object_name> | Attribute: <attribute_name>Object Attribute

The Include in the Data Warehouse is greyed out, hence, unable to reconfigure the option.

Cause:

There are several scenarios in which this problem could be encountered:

  • The Object <object_name>  do not have the option “Include in the Data Warehouse” checked.

  • The Attribute belongs to an object of type “Subobject” and the attribute is “inherited” from the Master. The Attribute needs to be configured on at the Master object level.

  • The Attribute belongs to an out of the box object, like the Project object, but it is inherited from the Investment object. In this easy to identify those attributes if they appear under the Database Table INV_INVESTMENTS, instead of odf_ca_project.

Resolution:

The resolution on those cases is always make sure the Object or Subobject is enabled for the Data Warehouse, and the Attribute is being configured on its top level (Master object):

  • The “Include in the Data Warehouse” checkbox needs to be selected on the Object so that its attributes have the check box configurable.

  • Also, make sure the Attribute is being configured on at the Master object level.

  • For out of the box Objects, like the Project, the changes on inherited attributes need to be made at the top level (The Investment object)
