A superpackage was created to deploy our default probes with our custom configuration, and that works well. Now we would like to include the latest robot_update in the package so that everything can get deployed at once.
Is it OK to include it in the superpackage and it is OK to use this for setting up a new robot?
It is not recommended to include robot_update in a superpackage. robot_update will automatically restart the robot, and this is likely to interrupt the installation of the other packages, which could lead to an incomplete deployment, a retry loop, or a deployment failure.
One option for new robot deployments is to use the USM discovery wizard to discover the new systems and then use the USM > Actions > Deploy Robots to install it to them.
