Question:
The ibm_svc Release Notes specifies:
Access Prerequisites
The ibm_svc probe requires the following access:
A user account with minimum of read-only access on IBM SVC and IBM V7000 storage systems.

One of the commands the ibm_svc probe runs is for svcinfo lsnode.
Full command:
svcinfo lsnode -nohdr -filtervalue config_node=no|while read -a node; do svctask cpdumps -prefix /dumps/iostats ${node[0]}; sleep 2s; done

The command fails and the output file will have:
The task has failed because the user's role is not authorized to submit the command.

This is because to run the command Write Permissions are needed.
Answer:
svcinfo lsnode, is one of the set of commands the probe runs. However, the probe is not using this command and does not expect an output. So there is no loss of functionality or monitoring resulting from the command failing.
